Voxview is a map viewer created
by the GIS-team of Van Oord

In the Survey department, there is a team primarily dedicated to creating maps and analyzing data, known as the GIS team. The role of the GIS team within the Survey department is to visualize the acquired data on maps or to transform the data into editable and understandable information for the client.

Currently, there is a high demand for geographical information as it can provide significant support during large projects. Many people utilize it, but since not everyone is proficient in handling it, they often need to seek assistance. Van Oord's GIS team provides services for individuals in need of help with geo-information. The users of their services are referred to as 'clients,' and these clients come from both within and outside the Van Oord company. Within the company, there is a considerable demand for the GIS team's assistance in visualizing the geo-data of projects on maps or converting regular data. External clients, who are outside the company, come from other organizations such as Rijkswaterstaat or the Municipality of Rotterdam. If they encounter difficulties with the data of a project, they can seek assistance from the GIS team.

The maps created by Van Oord during projects serve as intermediate products or support. These maps are stored in a secure environment where anyone with access can view them. This environment is called Voxview, created by the GIS team specifically for deploying project maps. To provide an example of the types of maps available in Voxview, two demo maps are presented below.
